Our Mission and Vision, House Rules and Welcome Information for New Members

Please familiarise yourself with the information below to help with the smooth running of the club.

Our Mission

The Windhoek Dog Club (WDC) exists to help people train their dogs in a friendly, supportive, and relaxed environment. We aim to support dog owners in building positive, respectful relationships with their dogs, making everyday life with their four-legged companions enjoyable and rewarding.

Training at WDC should be fun, educational, and pressure-free. No dog or owner should ever feel ashamed if a dog is still wild, untrained, or struggling — that is exactly why the club exists.

Our Vision

We envision a welcoming dog club where dogs, owners, trainers, and committee members enjoy not only training, but also the social community around it. The Windhoek Dog Club strives to:

  • Offer a safe and supportive training environment
  • Use kind, fair, and modern training methods
  • Provide qualified volunteer trainers and appropriate equipment
  • Encourage social interaction between members and dogs
  • Promote responsible dog ownership in Namibia

The club operates through the voluntary efforts of its trainers and committee members, who dedicate their personal time to support our members and their dogs.

Being Part of the Club

The Windhoek Dog Club is run entirely by volunteers. A little help from everyone goes a long way — whether it’s packing away equipment, keeping the grounds tidy, or lending a hand during events.

If you ever have questions about training, membership, or club organisation, please speak to your trainer or any committee member. We’re here to help!

🐶 We look forward to training, learning, and socialising together!
